GB women's Softball team pitches to funders

Sportworks has been asked by the British Softball Federation to help find sponsorship for its national Women’s Fastpitch Team.  The team qualified for the ISF World Championships in 2010 by finishing in 2nd place at the European Championships in Spain earlier this year.  They have got this far without any funding from UK Sport, as softball is no longer an Olympic sport,

With an increasing presence in schools (over 74% have played softball), a growing popularity with corporate leagues throughout the UK – over 10,000 people play regularly -- and in a sport that is played in 130 countries, the sport offers a real chance to gain national coverage on a worldwide stage.

Association with a successful team who have got to the pinnacle of their sport despite huge challenges is a particularly timely message for any corporate brand working hard to achieve even more in a recession.
