Innovative new leadership and management programme for RFU clubs
The Rugby Football Union (RFU) and Sportworks have teamed up with Train to Gain in the South West to develop an exciting and innovative Leadership and Management Programme for South West RFU Clubs.
Through the Leadership and Management Advisory Service from Train to Gain, clubs have been able to access grant funding to develop the talents and capabilities of senior club members as leaders and managers.
Sportworks is delighted to be working with the RFU and Train to Gain on this exciting programme to exceed the professional development needs of the Rugby Club workforce as identified in a recent training needs analysis.
The initial pilot programme involves 11 clubs from the Bristol area, and over 12 months they will participate in workshops involving Developing and Sustaining Your Volunteer Workforce, Managing Coaches, Finance and Business Planning and Maximising Your Assets and Generating Income.
RFU South West Regional Development Manager, Andy Blackmore, said: “We are excited by this innovative new programme which has been designed around the needs of rugby clubs.”
Barry Tugwood, South West Active Leisure Skills Broker said:
“We are really pleased with the outline and format. I am sure the programme will go down well and make a difference to the skill sets and objectives of all involved.”
