Sportworks bends over backwards for English Gymnastics
DERBYSHIRE sports consultancy Sportworks is doing cartwheels after a successful contract win with English Gymnastics.
Sportworks supported English Gymnastics at their 2009 National Community Sports Coach Conference. 19 gymnast coaches from across the UK attended a bespoke course on the ‘secrets of leadership and how to motivate people.’
The English Gymnastics contract follows a series of prestigious client wins by the consultancy including contracts with British Canoe Union, British Shooting and British Fencing.
English Gymnastics was recently awarded a three year grant of £2.14 million from Sport England to provide high quality gymnastics coaches in clubs throughout England.
Kathryn Crago, training solutions executive at Sportworks, said:
“To win a contract with a national organisation like English Gymnastics is a major coup for us. Our course was aimed at developing the skills of coaches and provided an opportunity for them to share best practice.
“We’re building the training and development arm of Sportworks and offering a tailored service for clients working in all areas of sport. We’re extremely excited to be teaming up with some of the biggest sporting organisations in the world.”
The English Gymnastics Association (EGA) was originally formed in 1982 by the English Regions, to ensure England was represented in the Commonwealth Games and other International events.
