Northamptonshire cricket fans will be in a spin thanks to Sportworks, who have been appointed to provide official merchandise ahead of the all important Ashes three day warm-up game from 24-26 July and all home Twenty20 matches.

The event management and sports licensing consultancy is working closely with the club, who are currently maintaining the lead in the Midlands/Wales/West group in the Twenty20 Cup.

The dedicated outdoor merchandise operation includes a product range featuring the new Steelbacks Twenty20 T-shirt and Crazy Hair for all fans. This is part of the club’s investment into reviewing and refreshing its offering to fans, and includes the creation of new stands and leisure facilities.

The club is looking forward to hosting the pre-Ashes series warm-up three day match, which is a fantastic opportunity to showcase its facilities and give the Aussies a taste of the team’s prowess on the pitch.

Commenting on the contract, Simon Skene, commercial services director at Sportworks, said: “This is a major coup for us as the Australians are such a prestigious international side and the Twenty20 Cup offers an exciting atmosphere for the whole family.

“Our expertise in offering commercial added value through official merchandise will not only raise the profile of the club, but the sport itself by giving fans something to remember the event by.”

Added Andy Crook, commercial manager of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club: “We’re thrilled to be working with Sportworks. They have a thorough understanding of our commercial proposition and can really generate value through our involvement with the Ashes and Twenty20 Cup, with an eye-catching product range of official merchandise for fans.”
