Sportworks visit St Andrews for World Deaf Golf
Sportworks staff had a tough day out of the office, when they met representatives of the World Deaf Golf Federation and the Local Organising Committee of the 2010 World Championships in St Andrews, Scotland - their arduous schedule started with a round of golf at the famous course, after which the site visit then moved onto undertake a viewing of the hotels.
The WDGF were impressed with the hotels, the golf course and the progress being made. Sportworks arranged for complimentary golf on the Torrance course (the course being used for the Championships), part of the Fairmont St Andrews resort.
Simeon Hart, representing the World Deaf Golf Federation wrote: "We would like to say a very big thank you for your great hospitality over Sunday and Monday, and particularly for the interpreting services provided by Scottish Deaf Golf. Many thanks to Sportworks for two days of first class organisation. We are looking forward to a similarly top class event in August next year"
The Torrance course is being used in 2010 as a qualifying course for the British Open, to be held on the Old Course St Andrews, later in the year.
There are still opportunities to get involved - we have a few sponsorship packages available, with accommodation at the fabulous Fairmont Hotel and golf on the Torrance course included. Contact Elspeth Gilfillan for further details:
