Managing & Leading Partnerships
Does your School Sport Partnership work productively, communicate well and combine resources?
This one day course is the second of three workshops focusing on the skill development for the SSCo role. It is a must for all SSCos tasked with nurturing and managing
relationships with the numerous partners and agencies, such as schools, clubs, NGBs and community organisations. It will help you to be aware of the roles, responsibilities, interests and concerns of partners and how you can work with and support them in various ways. It will also help you to develop the professional and personal skills which are crucial in building and maintaining effective partnerships.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will have:
- identified why good working relationships are important
- understood how personality types affect working relationships
- an understanding of how different issues hinder partnership relationships and how to lead stakeholders through a process of decision making
- learnt tools for effective communication, including negotiation skills, influencing, appropriate challenge, giving and receiving feedback, and conflict resolution
- explored how you can develop trust and agreement amongst your partners and how you can engage with partners in an empathetic way
- developed a personal action plan for how you will change your working practices to better manage and lead relationships with partners
