JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Event Support (Work Placement - 6 weeks)
Responsible for: supporting the planning and delivery of the ISSF Shotgun World Cup 2010
Responsible to: Tom Wenham
Location: Office based (Darley Dale, Derbyshire) / on site at Southern Counties Shooting Ground, Dorchester.
Roles and Responsibilities
- To work with the team to undertake detailed planning and preparation during the weeks leading up to the World Cup event
- To liaise with event partners including International Shotgun Shooting Federation and British Shooting via email, telephone and in person
- To support the set-up and break- down of the event infrastructure
- To work as an integral part of the team to deliver a safe, effective and memorable World Cup event in Dorset.
- To work as part of the team to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the event.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge:
- Understanding of the UK Sport and World Class Events Programme
- Knowledge and understanding of the fundamental characteristics of projects
Skills and Competencies:
- Aility to prioritise objectives and plan work to make best use of time and resources
- Implement elements of a project plan and communicate progress to project team members
- Identify practical ways to overcome challenges or barriers to effective project delivery
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
